Nutting Hill Villa is a Tuscan-inspired estate on a 100-acre macadamia farm in the hills at Clunes. The main villa has terracotta roofs, arches, a turret and a long verandah, surrounded by formal lawns, tropical gardens, an orchard, a private lake and an infinity pool. Ceremonies happen on the lawn or in the open-sided Pavilion on the Green, and receptions move into the Plantation Room or the pavilion.

It is private, spacious and flexible, with accommodation in the villa and the freedom to bring in the catering and styling team that suits the wedding.

Clunes sits deeper in the hinterland than Bangalow — around half an hour from Byron Bay and from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport. That little extra distance is part of the appeal: once guests arrive, the property feels completely removed from the coast and is large enough for the whole celebration to unfold in one place.

PHOTOGRAPHING a wedding at NUTTING HILL

Bold and varied. The villa gives you warm stucco, terracotta, arches, stairways and the tower; the orchard and gardens bring softer, shaded light; and the lake, lawns and valley views open the photographs back out. It can lean European and architectural without losing the relaxed Northern Rivers landscape around it.

The property is particularly strong late in the day. The long verandah and open reception spaces hold the light, while the hinterland views and formal lawns suit wider sunset frames.

The scale means there is plenty to explore, but the best photographs usually come from choosing a few strong settings rather than trying to use every feature. Tell me which three you love and we will build the portrait time around them.
