None of it's necessary, and albums and prints can wait until long after the wedding if that suits you better.

Do you travel for weddings?
All the time. Sydney, Melbourne, Fiji, Bali, Italy, Lord Howe Island — and plenty of places in between.
What sort of travel costs are involved?
It depends on a lot of things. Generally flights, two nights' accommodation and car hire — but I often do deals and specials, so the best bet is to ask. You might be surprised.
How many weddings have you shot?
More than 900.
How many photos do we get?
It depends on the wedding, the hours booked and whether you've added a second photographer — but around 650 individually edited photographs, with every image also supplied in black and white. I've delivered a good deal more before now.
How long until we get our photos?
A preview gallery within a week, and the full edited gallery in three to four weeks.
How do you deliver the images — and can we share them?
Absolutely. Your photos arrive in an online gallery that doubles as a backup archive and a lovely way to share the day with family. Accessible by direct link, and only the people you give the password to can see it. Online for a minimum of five years.
Do we have the rights to our own photos?
Yep. Download them in high-res from your gallery and print them anywhere you like, send them to whoever you wish. They're yours.

How safe are our photos?
I've never lost a single photo and never will. My cameras write to two cards at once, so there's an immediate backup with every frame. They're backed up again the moment I get home or to the hotel, then onto an NAS drive for long-term RAW storage, then onto a shock-proof drive kept off-site. Five backups per photo — six counting your gallery.
What equipment do you use?
Sony A7 IVs mainly, and sometimes a Pentax medium-format film camera. There's a backup body with me at all times, and enough spare batteries and cards to supply a press corps for days.
Do you do videography?
No, but I can point you toward some outstanding film-makers I often work and travel with. Be wary of studio packages — you'll often end up with whichever shooter the company has free on your date. Hire people who shoot for the business they own.
We hate having our photo taken.
Almost everyone says this. Twenty relaxed minutes, no stiff posing, and most couples tell me afterwards it was their favourite part of the day.
Do you have business insurance?
Yes. If your venue needs the paperwork, ask and I'll send it through.
How does payment work?
An $800 deposit holds your date, with the rest due by or on the wedding day. PayPal, direct bank transfer or cash — whatever works for you.
How far ahead should we book?
Most couples book 12–18 months out, but I've shot weddings booked three weeks ahead. If your date is free, it's free.
I take a limited number of weddings each year. Tell me a little about your day and I'll come back to you with everything — usually within a day or two.
